Casio Graphing Calculator
It is highly recommended that you purchase a Casio Graphing Calculator. Texas Instrument (TI) will work, but will not match up to what is shown in the classroom. A Casio calculator will be assigned in the classroom but will not be permitted to leave the room as there aren’t enough for all students.
Having a calculator will allow for ease of homework, alleviate the hassle of transporting a calculator to and from school, and will be the same calculator used in the high school. I have seen the calculators sell for around $55 at Walmart®, Staples®, and Amazon®. Older models also go as cheap as $10-20 on Ebay®.
Below are pictures of some Casio models that will work fine. Don’t pay attention to the model number as they change all the time. A perfect calculator should look like one of the calculators pictured below.

The calculator below will be used in my classroom and on the SOL test. This can be found at stores such as Staples®, Amazon®, and Walmart®. Sometimes they can be found cheaper through their websites and shipped to the store.
The two calculators below will work fine for the class but are older models. These won’t be able to be found in the stores but I have seen them on Ebay® cheaper, sometimes as cheap as $10-15.
I have seen a flip calculator but these are a little harder to find and a little more expensive.
These two calculators are the high-end calculators that will be excellent for my class, but are not necessary for what we do in class. These two calculators go above and beyond what is needed and are a little more complicated to operate. The functions won’t follow exactly the same procedures that I show to get the same result. These are a lot more expensive (can be as much as $100-$120).
